Will it to Happen
My wife used to ask me how I expected a certain outcome when all indications were that something I wanted had little chance of occurring. I simply replied that “I would WILL it to happen.” My belief that something would occur was undeterred by the facts of a given situation.
How does any underdog prevail over a superior opponent? Their WILL is stronger than the better team. And while my feelings about “willing” something to happen may have been born on sports fields in Little League, soccer games, or High School sports…I carried the belief into business that when times got rough I could simply “will” it to happen for me. Not that I thought it was easy. In fact, I convinced myself that the other guy was “willing it to happen” against me, so I had to actually “will” harder. What?
It meant that you had to work as hard as possible at all times. Do everything possible to make what you wanted to happen, happen. And then when the moment of truth came you had to have faith in yourself and your project. It was a belief that your outcome would prevail. And amazingly enough, sometimes it would prevail. It did occur. You did get what you worked so hard to achieve.
OK, I am older and wiser now. And yes, the skeptics say there were just as many times when I willed it to happen that I failed. Or that I was just a wide-eyed optimist who always believed I would win and sometimes you just do win and that it has nothing to do with how bad you want it.
Poppycock.
You cynics can stop believing in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and that your God will not be there at the end of your road.
Me? I can’t wait to see what I get for Christmas, the Bunny knows I love my marshmallow peeps, and I can’t wait to see my Dad when I get to heaven.

More and more people are becoming aware that positive thinking, intention manifestation and the Law of Attraction is indeed a real power of the universe.
It works and I don’t need to prove it does.

Great post, John!
I will things also…
I lost my dad {who started our little franchise consulting biz here in Cleve} in June of this year. I KNOW I will see him up there.
