Why Discovering The Truth Makes Things Different...
Suppose there was a leak in a small pipe inside a wall of your house. Just a tiny leak, not a gusher. A drip perhaps. It is there and you don’t know it. Does not knowing the drip is there change the reality that you have a leak?
Last month you paid your bills on time, but the interest rate on your mortgage is about to change and make your payment four hundred dollars higher in two months. It’s going to happen whether you know it or not. Does knowing it is going to happen change anything?
Suppose your health is deteriorating, but you didn’t know it. Your body is crumbling over an ailment your Doctor won’t find for another six months. Would knowing earlier make any difference?
Of course knowing makes a difference…because you can DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! You go through life expecting all to be well…even when it isn’t. Ignorance is Bliss they say. I say Bull-hockey. Ignorance makes your situation worse, much worse in some cases. Wouldn’t you grab a phone and make an appointment with a specialist if your health was suddenly an issue?
Take a look at your finances, your current job or business, your relationships, and even your weight and start recognizing what is there before someone has to tell you. Anticipate, plan for events, and cut off a problem at the beginning, not when it becomes unmanageable. You can look at successful people and learn an invaluable lesson. Facing the truth is work…you have to actually analyze where you are and what may be happening if you don’t make a change now.
The talking heads are now saying the economy is in trouble. Didn’t you already “feel” that and know it? Your customers are buying less and maybe that means your next quarter will not hit the sales figures you projected. Don’t you already know that…and shouldn’t you be cutting costs or adding new customers?
One key to success is taking action when necessary. Get your head out of your butt and start looking at your life in realistic terms, not the sugarcoated “all is well” Polyanna way most people live.
