What's Real and What Ain't...

The people who ran the big firms on Wall Street get to keep their riches and you get to keep your losses…that’s bad.

A-Rod and Madonna get a pass on morality, breaking up two families…and your world doesn’t permit such shenanigans…that’s good.

Raising kids with no rules or spending limits creates adults who want more than they deserve…and that’s bad.

So-called Mid-Western Values are still being followed in America…and that’s good.

Some people running churches are flawed and are Judgmental…and that’s bad.

Some people sit in church quietly and pray for others who judge people…and that’s good.

It’s real that America is in financial trouble…but we are not going to destroy our way of life…and that’s good.

Tampa Bay was choking big time…but the red Sox ain’t going to the World Series…and that’s good.

People will not be able to live with the debt they now have…and they ain’t going to have to pay it all off, because the banks would rather have some than none…and that’s bad.

What’s real is that not one person has taken responsibility for this mess…and what ain’t real is that no one is to blame…and that’s bad.

The core population of this country that acts responsibly will pay for the sins of a few…and the few who borrowed too much, and loaned too much, and spent too much, ain’t going to suffer as much…and that’s real.

Wallowing from this point forward will keep us from moving forward and that is real…crying about our position ain’t the way out…hard work is.

In two weeks the country has come to a financial halt and that is real…giving more credit ain’t the way out.

Let pay our bills, take our medicine, own less material stuff, pay as we go from now on, and return to Capitalism and stop living in Creditalism.

Welcome

After 30+ years in business, I’ve decided that it’s time to share my hard knocks knowledge. Having worked in almost 200 bankruptcy cases and many other kinds of business failure situations, I have awarded myself a Ph.D. from what I refer to as the Herman School of Business. In this blog, you’ll read about starting a business, running a business, and, if the situation calls for it, selling a business; about being a business success and not a business failure. Welcome …
