Time For Thanksgiving...

My first Thanks go to my father who died 25 years ago yesterday…and still lives on through my life and the lives of my children. If you feel your father was the greatest man you ever met then you share a blessing that I had in my lifetime.

I wasn’t responsible for having such a wonderful father…or mother…but I did have something to do with bringing into this world three of the most wonderful women on the planet. Kelly, Colleen and Shannon are now adults, shaped in life by some of my pluses and for sure many of my minuses. No father is more proud of watching his daughters grow to become such beautiful people…and I am very Thankful for these girls.

In my mid-life change from divorcing my childhood sweetheart…to a later marriage to my current wife, Maggie, I am thankful for both women who have helped me at times and put up with the valleys and helped me share the peaks of life as an entrepreneur.

Maggie is surely a wonderful gift to me and with Maggie came Sonny and Julie, my other two wonderful children. And now our family has extended through the lives of our children so that there are four grandchildren, a daughter-in-law and two son-in-laws and wonderful friends they all bring into our lives. They bless me every day.

For the baseball buddies who share the “Draft Palace” with me and have been around for more than thirty years…I love you guys and am Thankful for your friendship.

And finally…for still having a passion to try new things and the willingness to face challenges…and I am Thankful for having people across the country respond to my messages on this blog, when they read my books, or when they hear me speak…every email and note received keeps me moving forward.

No complaining today or tomorrow. Just relish the gifts you have received in life and be Thankful.

Welcome

After 30+ years in business, I’ve decided that it’s time to share my hard knocks knowledge. Having worked in almost 200 bankruptcy cases and many other kinds of business failure situations, I have awarded myself a Ph.D. from what I refer to as the Herman School of Business. In this blog, you’ll read about starting a business, running a business, and, if the situation calls for it, selling a business; about being a business success and not a business failure. Welcome …
