The New World Of Blogs

With new worlds come new categories of people. A century ago automotive technicians were born. Computer geeks came along fifty years past. Now that the Internet has exploded we have Bloggers. People who share information with others via the incredible World Wide Web.

Over the last few months I have discovered Bloggers. Lisa Haneberg so far is my favorite. Because she teaches so much in such a small space. And, like most Bloggers, she makes you think. Now the reason I have taken to viewing Blogs is the fact that this is the year I have released two books in an effort to teach others. The Innkeeper Tales and Hermanisms: Axioms for Business & Life are the result of 35 years of work in the business world. And the lessons shared reach far beyond business. But what of this Blogging?

In researching Bloggers that relate to business I have found there are thousands. Seth Godin is wonderful. So is Scott Adams.. And after reading others I have now started my own Blog, called simply and egotistically enough, the Herman School of Business. After all, if I am the only teacher at this Blog who else’s school of business would it be? And to launch this blog and start my interaction with fellow bloggers I have sent out over 100 copies of Hermanisms to make others aware of my work. Any Blogger who requests a copy through the end of September will be sent one for free. Just send me an email at Herman@HSBPress.com with your address and it will be on the way.

To my fellow Bloggers I say thanks. There is no effort to shut out newcomers, on the contrary, I have been given nothing but help to get started. And so the tiny seedling of my Blog is planted. If my daily messages have meaning and information that helps others, then the word of this Blog will spread. As I find other Bloggers I like, they will be shared here as well. Now, if other Bloggers need a day off, feel free to have me substitute teach for that session. If you see an entry worth sharing with your readers, simply lift it and place it in your column for that day. Just tell the readers Herman is filling in for you.

Welcome

After 30+ years in business, I’ve decided that it’s time to share my hard knocks knowledge. Having worked in almost 200 bankruptcy cases and many other kinds of business failure situations, I have awarded myself a Ph.D. from what I refer to as the Herman School of Business. In this blog, you’ll read about starting a business, running a business, and, if the situation calls for it, selling a business; about being a business success and not a business failure. Welcome …
