The More You Do...There's More To Do...

There are activities abounding in my world and I don’t know which way to turn first. Huh. It really feels that way at times and this is one of them.

Recently it was noted that a major distraction was the stock market, but by selling out my active account that has been taken care of. The other distractions are the desire to do too much for too many circumstances. I love hearing from readers. This blog has only been on-line for about five months but more emails and questions come in all the time. Hey, that was the point wasn’t it? But a phenomenon for me is how to sort through the needs of readers and have my responses be efficient, yet not all time consuming. You see, the problem is that I want to dive into every question and every request to solve the problem for them. Mission Impossible.

You really can’t be all things to all people can you.

So if you keep focused on the goal of your business you can achieve great things. If my goal is to reach the masses then my focus needs to be on that and not every detail of every problem presented. Now please keep writing and emailing and even calling…just help me stay focused and understand I couldn’t possibly do enough to solve every problem presented. Phew….now I don’t feel so guilty anymore.

One of my favorite HERMANISMS is Number 54… When you look in the mirror, see what’s there. If you are not aware of what you are doing and what is holding you back, expect less than your best effort, and maybe less than a total success.

Welcome

After 30+ years in business, I’ve decided that it’s time to share my hard knocks knowledge. Having worked in almost 200 bankruptcy cases and many other kinds of business failure situations, I have awarded myself a Ph.D. from what I refer to as the Herman School of Business. In this blog, you’ll read about starting a business, running a business, and, if the situation calls for it, selling a business; about being a business success and not a business failure. Welcome …
