Shameless Marketing Request...
For the readers who have been with me for awhile you know that I have been attempting to obtain syndication for my writing in newspapers around the country. There are now almost 200 postings on this Herman School of Business Blog. And the time for marketing to weekly newspapers is upon us.
I will be sending out several hundred packages to the Publishers of weekly newspapers requesting that they read my work and consider hiring me to contribute a weekly column for their use. Included in that marketing package will be the two articles published this year in national magazines, SPIRIT MAGAZINE from January of this year, and INC MAGAZINE for July (on newsstands now) which has an article about a business turnaround situation where I commented on the chances of their success. There will be a one page Bio Piece, a copy of the Dust Jacket from THE INNKEEPER TALES, several articles I have written hoping to catch the Publisher’s eye, and…several letters from you, my readers telling why you enjoy reading this blog!
Shameless yes…but necessary if I want to expand my horizons.
I need you to write a letter, on your letterhead (business letterhead if possible) sent to me stating why you read this blog, what you get out of my work, and why it should appear in a newspaper on a weekly basis where you live.
Send the letters to me at 11615 Greenspring Avenue, Lutherville, Maryland 21093. I think I have given enough of myself by now to ask you to give me back something of yourself. I need your support here. And today’s business and life lesson is this: you can’t do everything by yourself, and failing to ask for help means you are not understanding your personal limits. For those who choose to write I thank you…for those who pass on this request, thanks for being readers anyway.
