It's Harder Then You Think

Whether you want to run a marathon, lose a few pounds, start a business or make a lot of money know this one thing. It’s harder then you think it is.

Now, just because it is harder then you think, don’t feel like giving up before you try. Because it is also worth more then you think it is to achieve the goal you have. People are incredibly resilient when it comes to the ups and downs of life, but we often get soft and lazy hoping the Publishers Clearing House van will show up at our house rather than have to work for the money. If Publishers does show up you might have more money, but the people who had to work for the money have that and much more.

This is a special Sunday blog posting. I usually write one and post it on Monday morning, as I try to stay one or two blogs ahead. But the year end is coming and tomorrows’ blog pertains to that, so I am posting this one on Sunday. The anticipation of winning, or achieving a goal, or mastering a task, or even losing those ten unwanted pounds all give you something else that allows you to soar even higher in life. It gives you confidence that you can do it. It gives you self worth. Working for what you want might be hard but I beg you to see the worth of that hard work, and challenge yourself even more. You will be amazed at what you can do when you just do it. So, read a book, watch a TV show, look at sports, and spend time with your family this coming year. But, make a promise to give yourself a great gift this year. The gift of accomplishment, no matter how hard it is to achieve it.

Email me at Herman@Hermanisms.com and put your goals into words. By sharing it with others you will be giving yourself more motivation when you feel like quitting. And write to me about your wants in future postings. Tell me what you would like to see discussed here in coming weeks and months. I plan on harping about debt issues, management issues, marketing issues, and buying and selling companies, as well as starting one from scratch…but let’s make it a little more interactive by your telling me what you are doing and what you want aired out to help others learn from your efforts.

And keep in mind HERMANISM # 31…If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

Welcome

After 30+ years in business, I’ve decided that it’s time to share my hard knocks knowledge. Having worked in almost 200 bankruptcy cases and many other kinds of business failure situations, I have awarded myself a Ph.D. from what I refer to as the Herman School of Business. In this blog, you’ll read about starting a business, running a business, and, if the situation calls for it, selling a business; about being a business success and not a business failure. Welcome …
