Emerging Ideas...

I am meeting today with my newest business client and I couldn’t be more excited. She has an idea and damn the torpedoes, she expects to change the world with it. Her first cut at her business plan touts the idea and explains why she will tilt the world sideways until she comes out on top.

And I believe she can do it.

She has data to support her idea, she has the knowledge and credentials to lead her company through to completion of her idea, and she has the guts to take a financial risk and the willingness to work hard to see her idea come to fruition.

It takes seconds to formulate and idea. It takes time, money, energy, luck and hard work to grow the idea into reality. This client has what it takes and I am excited to work with her to watch this now “hatched” idea become a new way for people to do business in her industry.

At 10:00PM last night I was reviewing my notes for our morning meeting today…the email alarm went off…it was my client, still working and asking a question that needed an answer. When you are still working at 10:00PM you are a believer and a doer.

Karen Pitsley, I salute you. For having the courage to let your idea grow…to share it with those who can make your idea work…and for being bold enough to believe that one business person has the power to restructure an entire industry! If you keep your fire burning you just might do what you say you can do.

Count me in…I love being on your team.

Welcome

After 30+ years in business, I’ve decided that it’s time to share my hard knocks knowledge. Having worked in almost 200 bankruptcy cases and many other kinds of business failure situations, I have awarded myself a Ph.D. from what I refer to as the Herman School of Business. In this blog, you’ll read about starting a business, running a business, and, if the situation calls for it, selling a business; about being a business success and not a business failure. Welcome …
