America has hit an Iceberg...and Herman has your Lifeboat
When the Titanic hit the iceberg, many on board still thought it was unsinkable. Those who calmly got in the Lifeboats were saved…because they understood the reality of their situation.
Make no mistake about this…the American economy has hit an iceberg, and those refusing to believe our ship could sink…may be casualties just as those who stayed on board the Titanic. Just like that dark night in 1912 when too few lifeboats were available to save everyone, so too in these times there are not enough ways to have everyone survive this crisis.
Listen, this writer is an eternal optimist, not a doom and gloom person who thinks there is no future…but I start based on a realistic look at the world I live in, not the world where you bury your head and expect that everything will be OK over time. In the world I have lived in for the last six decades new ideas can lead to wealth…if the road you travel down is called “hard work boulevard” and not “fantasy lane.” In my world people always want more than they can afford, and some lender who can make money on that “wanting” will gladly lend you money so you can get what you want as long as the lender gets his high interest from your unchecked desires. Small business owners can have the same favoritism as large corporations and make huge sums of money if they play the game like the big boys. Abhor debt, and make your customer want your product or service, and work more hours than your customers who want time off to play with the toys they shouldn’t be buying on credit…and that road will lead you to the promised land.
THE FIRST ONES TO RESTRUCTER DEBT WILL BE THE SAFEST
THE FIRST ONES TO SELL WILL GET HIGHER PRICES
THOSE WHO HOLD CASH WILL GET GREATER BARGAINS
SLASH OVERHEAD OR SINK FROM BEING OVERWEIGHT
WATCH OUT FOR CUSTOMERS WHO CAN’T PAY YOU…THAT DROWNING CUSTOMER MAY PULL YOU UNDER WITH HIM
AND RUN YOUR HOUSEHOLD DEBT FREE OR EVENTUALLY SINK
