Ain't Life Grand!

After I ship out another sixty marketing packages this morning, my grandson and I will head out to visit some trains Morrissey is a three year old who seems enthralled with train layouts and this time of year fire stations hold the treasure he seeks.

After hitting two places we plan to stop at Friendly’s…they have his favorite grilled cheese, pickles and French fries. And the boy even has his favorite Friendly’s. It doesn’t take us long in life to know what we want.

On Friday night of this week Morrissey and his older brother Tyler will be having a sleepover with Poppy in the Draft Palace. The movie selection for the evening is SANDLOT and there will be games to play if they stay awake long enough. That’s two events this week with Kelly’s boys.

Next Monday Maggie and I go to Virginia to spend two days with Clayton, our oldest grandchild at nine. Where did the last ten years go? The day after Christmas we head to Los Angeles and will see Alisa. These four kids all have wonderful opportunities ahead for education, travel, and interaction with a changing world that should be wonderful.

Do I relish time with the grandchildren…of course…but the excitement for me is seeing my kids! These adults are making their way in a variety of places and a range of professions. Getting together is a treat. Hearing of their activities, jobs, and the friends in their lives always makes me smile.

Why don’t you just sit back for a minute and think about the sharing with your family that will occur over the next few weeks. And feel good about it like I do. The gift I am getting this Christmas doesn’t cost a cent. Spending time with the kids and their children sure makes life grand.

Welcome

After 30+ years in business, I’ve decided that it’s time to share my hard knocks knowledge. Having worked in almost 200 bankruptcy cases and many other kinds of business failure situations, I have awarded myself a Ph.D. from what I refer to as the Herman School of Business. In this blog, you’ll read about starting a business, running a business, and, if the situation calls for it, selling a business; about being a business success and not a business failure. Welcome …
